Louise Hay

As promised in Blog #004, I will come back with the story about Mrs. Louise Hay and me. Louise Hay was a bestselling author. Speaker, Soulful Teacher, Healer, Artist, and the godmother of affirmations.

Louise passed away on August 30, 2017, at the age of 90.

In 1976, Louise Hay wrote her first book, Heal Your Body, followed by You Can Heal Your Life, in 1984, and many more.

Books that changed the lives of millions of people worldwide. You Can Heal Your Life reached the status of over 50 million copies sold worldwide in 2020.

The first time I noticed Louise Hay was in the late eighties during an interview on the Oprah Winfrey Show. The interview was about the fact that her book You Can Heal Your Life became a "New York Times best-seller."

Years later, in 2015, I searched the internet to find inspiration to write a newsletter about our laser-engraved mirrors. One of the search results showed;

What is Mirror Work?

"Mirror work is the most effective method I've found for learning to love yourself and see the world as a safe and loving place. I have been teaching people how to do mirror work for as long as I have been teaching affirmations".
Louise Hay - What is Mirror Work?

Curious as always, this link brought me to the Louise Hay website. I recognized her and remembered seeing this lady on the Oprah Winfrey show, talking about her book and affirmations.

What are affirmations?

In other words, whatever we say or think is an affirmation. All of your self-talk, the dialogue in your head, is a stream of affirmations. The most powerful affirmations are those you say out loud to yourself in front of your mirror.

Because I became inspired by Mrs. Hay's career, work, and impact on millions of people worldwide, I honored her and made her a picture in a mirror. Just as a friendly gesture to thank her for her inspiration and send it to the Hay Foundation

After a few weeks, I received a personal thank you note from Louise herself. I never expected to get such a lovely note from this amazing lady!

Dearest Debbie,

I want to thank you so much for the lovely mirror! The work you do is exceptional and very unique!

I adore the mirror and can see how useful they can be for affirmations.

Once again, thank you…

Life loves you!

What a tremendous compliment that the "Godmother of Affirmations" adored our mirrors. She confirmed how unique they are and how useful they can be for saying your own affirmations.

Louise, may your beautiful soul rest in peace, and thank you again for being such an inspirational lady who has touched and helped so many people in the world. I will never forget you!

A BIG HUG to all of you and please STAY SAFE!
Debbie
